Bio

I grew up in Twain Harte, a small town in the California foothills, and moved to San Francisco in 2016 to study Computer Science at the University of San Francisco. I started building websites for small businesses almost immediately — designing, developing, and finding clients while making my way through college.

While freelancing, I started at VanMoof as their first employee in San Francisco, where I sold and fixed electric bikes, occasionally tracked down stolen ones, and represented the brand to Dutch officials and local business leaders. For my last semester in college, I worked at TheSpider (a San Francisco web development agency) building websites for local businesses. After graduating, I joined Retool in 2020 as an Associate Sales Engineer. I've been building tools for Retool and our customers since.

The common thread: I like building things that make your work easier, whether that's an internal app, a sales process, or a team from scratch. I think in systems and prototype in code — I'm happiest when I'm figuring out how something works and finding a way to make it better.

Outside of work: I'm a sports fan (Giants baseball and Oilers hockey), a participant in a Survivor fantasy league (that I probably take more seriously than I should), and I occassionally play video games (mostly Soulslikes and RPGs). I read history and biographies when I'm not staring at a screen, and occasionally still edit photos and video (a holdover from my freelancing work).

Today, I live in San Francisco with my girlfriend Meagan and our two cats.
